There are other similar mods to this, but they always happen to be vastly different in scope and philosophy. This mod is not made as a competitor, rival or partner with any other mod, it is its own entity that can be combined with other mods, but it's not specifically designed around that. There are many things that can be done with the PC Port of Mario 64, one of the most common things to do is to restore it to what it was supposed to be like, another option is to modernize it to what it would've been like if it were to be made today, that's what this mod is attempting to do, as the DS has the newest Mario 64 textures that are not retro themed. Super Mario 64 HDS is a mod for Super Mario 64 (The PC Port Specifically) it's one that imports and upscales Mario 64 DS textures by a factor of 16, it is conceptually sort of a mix between the Cleaner Aesthetics and the RESRGAN 16x re-upscale texturepacks.
